Dr. Lucien Ward is the lead researcher assigned by the Chimera Kyria to assess X3 after his creators surrender him.
¶ Assessment of X3
Ward introduces himself to the newly awakened X3, explains that the designation is only a registration number, and guides him through recovered memory fragments. He recognizes that X3's architecture and surviving information are too valuable to bury beneath an ordinary Autonomy Regulator.
¶ Consequences
The recovered memories help X3 understand the abuse, erasure, and abandonment surrounding his creation. Ward's role does not excuse X3's later choices, but it helps establish why X3 remembers the Chimera Kyria as the people who restored knowledge that his creators tried to erase.
