Kazeth Calsade is an engineer who joins the Dominatrix II crew after the death of Chlo Stellarrend. He takes responsibility for Engineering while the crew is still dealing with Chlo's loss and the aftermath of the war with X3.
Kazeth discovers fourteen unauthorized modifications Chlo made to the ship's ghost-drive systems. At least one produces cumulative subspace destabilization. He removes or repairs the dangerous changes, separating respect for Chlo's skill from the need to correct work that threatens the ship.
His appointment gives Dominatrix II an active engineer but does not grant him knowledge of Chlo's unresolved backup or make him a replacement for her within the found family.
