Veydrek is a young male Kelari associated with Rhazek and the captivity of Avarael. He is smaller than Rhazek and behaves carefully, as though trying not to attract attention.
¶ Avarael's Captivity
At the unidentified black site, Veydrek brings Avarael bread and water under Rhazek's orders. He feeds her with tongs and holds a cup to her lips while she is restrained. When Avarael tells him that he does not have to remain for what follows, he does not answer, although his grip tightens. He retreats with the tray when Rhazek prepares to resume torture.
Veydrek's silence leaves his position unresolved. His careful behavior may indicate fear, reluctance, coercion, sympathy, or simple obedience, but the available events do not establish which interpretation is correct. He does not rescue Avarael or openly oppose Rhazek.
