Avarael is a Kelari whose consciousness is transferred into an artificial Kelari body after terminal Venthali Syndrome destroys her biological health. Chlo Stellarrend performs the procedure with Avarael's consent, making her survival an important example of Chlo's later commitment to informed choice.
Avarael's transfer preserves her identity while replacing the body that could no longer survive the disease. Her existence connects artificial-person construction with questions of continuity, embodiment, and consent without reducing her to a copy or a product.
After Chlo's death, Gorvek Thol tells Jack Kaiden how Chlo saved Avarael. The account helps Jack understand that Chlo learned to ask permission before intervening in another person's life.
Avarael is later held at an unidentified black site, where Rhazek interrogates and tortures her for information about her creation and other artificial Kelari. Veydrek feeds her under Rhazek's orders. Avarael insists that she is the only one of her kind and warns that Jack will eventually search for her.
