Jinn are shapeshifting people from Jinseok with purple blood. Their natural forms may be fuzzy, multicolored, and large-eyed, while their bodies can assume human appearances and different sex presentations.

Jinn transformation supports long-term impersonation and concealment of small objects within bodily tissue. Blood remains an identifying marker.

Jinn secretly integrated into human society during the 1980s. Public exposure led to persecution through blood testing, barcodes, registration, camps, travel documents, and the slur “snook.”
¶ Politics
Jinn and Chimera Kyria have a long adversarial history, but Skyler Novastar and Emir form a temporary alliance. Jinn infiltration enables sabotage and framing, including Jorin Lunarcrest's impersonation of Pailisto.
Shapeshifting crimes belong to their individual perpetrators and must not justify collective persecution.
