Dorian Viro is a struggling artist from Pod 32. After painting a nude portrait of his husband against the landscape of Helvaris, pirates cripple his ship, steal his paintings, and leave him stranded. Jack Kaiden's crew answers his distress call and intercepts the pirates.

Three auxiliary AI crewmembers and Second Lieutenant Zhyrrak Thevarnis die during the boarding operation that recovers Dorian's work.

In gratitude, Dorian paints Love in the Void, depicting Jack and Talonor together before the Dominatrix II. The manuscript introduces him once as “Dorian Viro” but later says “Dorian”; the user has confirmed Dorian Viro as canonical.
