Karssen is one of the intruders who boards the Dominatrix. He and Kyle enter the cockpit, where Karssen settles into the captain's chair instead of helping the others search the vessel.
The boarding action brings the intruders into conflict with Cartridge. After Cartridge kills Kyle, Karssen attempts to guard the doorway and then flee. Cartridge attacks him with knives from the galley, killing him on the kitchen floor.
