Gorvek Thol is a Kelari commander, former leader of Rift Vanguard Six, Dominatrix II officer, and father of Avarael. He challenges Jack's command, helps organize resistance to X3, and protects both crew and Voidborn during the Quiet War.
¶ Biography
Gorvek commands Rift Vanguard Six aboard the SSS Roc during the Kreylon hostage rescue and U-84129's recovery. His centaurine Kelari body and military experience make him a formidable field leader.
In Apotheosis, Gorvek joins Dominatrix II and assumes first-officer responsibilities during Yvonne's absence. He prevents the coerced strike on Art Vorluun and helps the crew recognize that Jack is acting under X3's control.
Gorvek works with Serelith on the dual-boot counteroperation and Cargo Bay survival plan. They stage recovery measures for forty-two vented pilgrims without Jack's knowledge; twenty-four still die and eighteen suffer permanent damage.
During the Domain conflict, Gorvek takes command. After the crisis he departs with Aeren Vale.
Avarael regards Gorvek as her father. Neither Jack nor Chlo holds that paternal identity, although Chlo participates in Avarael's creation or reconstruction.
