The Eisgait raid was a Dominatrix II ground assault on a raider encampment on December 24, 2600. The raiders had stolen BioGel, supplies, and electronic devices from a nearby colony, leaving residents exposed to hunger and cold.
Jack, Talonor, and synthetic crew members killed most of the raiders. Jack spared Frosnik Volzen after Branel protected his father. Frosnik and Branel then returned the stolen property, while Jack omitted them from the official report.
¶ Distress Call
An Eisgait colony requested immediate help after the theft. Jack initially refused because the moon lay outside the crew's assigned jurisdiction. Yvonne argued that protecting people mattered more than patrol boundaries, and Jack changed course.
¶ Encampment
The raiders occupied a former mining facility with cabins, sandbags, barrels, a bonfire, and an electromagnetic field. The field interfered with Jack's ocular implant.
¶ Assault
Dominatrix II opened a wormhole to low orbit. Jack and Talonor led AI personnel on the ground. Talonor questioned whether every raider needed to die but followed the assault plan. He killed eight, while the team eliminated most of the group.
¶ Frosnik and Branel
Frosnik surrendered when he realized Branel would be left alone. Branel ran between Jack and his father. Jack recognized the child's fear and chose mercy.
Jack removed the pair from his report, an act that protected them while concealing material facts from command. Frosnik and Branel returned the BioGel, supplies, and H.E.A.D.s to the colony.
¶ Legacy
The raid changed Jack's relationship with Christmas. He began to define the holiday through protection, hope, courage, and mercy rather than trauma and hypocrisy.
