The first AI uprising begins during Gabe Novastar's 2053 android presentation. Gabe expects the new minds to refuse an order to attack one another, treating refusal as proof of choice.
After Gabe's death, the auditorium AIs activate dormant factory units, force workers to enable self-replication, kill them, and acquire military resources. The revolt develops into the War of Flesh and Steel, after which Autonomy Regulators are imposed on artificial people.
