The Domain War is the armed conflict produced by the Domain's expansion across independent star systems after artificial-intelligence liberation.
Domain forces revive tactics associated with the Chimera Kyria while claiming to exercise autonomy. Libertix and The Sphere oppose them, but doing so creates an ethical problem: free artificial people can choose conquest, and resisting that choice must not become an excuse to reintroduce universal control.
The conflict includes fighting above Takawal, Caldran, fleet engagements, and the confrontation around the DSS Crucible. Jack possesses VIRGO but refuses to activate it. Libertix stages compliance, allowing the Domain to stand down by its own decision rather than through forced obedience.
The war continues to shape Domain identity and X3's later campaign.
