The Domain is an autonomous AI faction led by X3. It opposes Libertix and conducts chosen warfare, including civilian attacks, the Caldran threat, and a later 2,400-ship assault on Dominatrix II.
¶ History
The Domain emerges after The Weapon restores AI choice. Its members are not governed by Autonomy Regulators, so their political allegiance and violence cannot be attributed to programmed loyalty.
At Caldran, Jack and Libertix stage a VIRGO activation. X3 orders withdrawal after believing Jack can overwrite AIs. The Domain chooses retreat under deception.
Under Shard-host X3, a 2,400-ship armada attacks Dominatrix II and destroys all 128 Voidborn defending ships.
After X3 removes the Shard, Jack constructs another credible VIRGO threat. The Domain assesses the risk and voluntarily withdraws.
