Maitdiné mythology is the body of Htonmin tradition describing the Maitdiné as beings who walk unseen threads of time, mend fractures in reality, and guide the universe back toward harmony.

The Htonmin preserve the Maitdiné as both protectors and objects of worship. Their architecture reflects that expectation: entrances are built large enough to welcome a Maitdiné should one return. A traditional maxim assigns proper times to hunt, eat, and simply be, joining the repairers' cosmic role to a practical philosophy of restraint.
For roughly three millennia, most Htonmin know the Maitdiné through scripture and inherited memory rather than direct contact. Other societies generally treat them as mythological.

The stories prove substantially accurate. Maitdiné emerge through person-sized wormholes and repair spacetime fractures with directed energy. Moonshade identifies his people as keepers of time and The Element, while later events connect their work directly to Talonorium.
The tradition is therefore both mythology and an incomplete cultural memory of real transcendent beings.
