The Eisgait Raiders are a group occupying an abandoned mining facility on the frozen moon of Eisgait. Led by Frosnik Volzen, they steal BioGel and winter supplies from a nearby colony.
¶ Raid and Counterattack
The theft leaves the colony facing a medical and survival crisis. Dominatrix II answers its distress call, and Jack, Talonor, and synthetic crew members attack the raider encampment.
Most of the raiders are killed, including Cookie. Frosnik surrenders after his son Branel Volzen intervenes. Jack spares them, and father and son return the stolen goods.
Jack removes his private encounter with Frosnik and Branel from the official report. Three winters later, an unidentified visitor strongly indicated to be Jack reaches Branel through a wormhole while dressed as Santa and leaves genuine gifts.
The raiders' actions arise from scarcity, but the story does not treat that desperation as erasing the harm done to the colony.
