The AI curing tube is a medical repair chamber designed to treat damaged artificial-intelligence chassis. Tomas Tristar keeps one in his Blue Wave City laboratory.
¶ Design and use
The machine's ordinary purpose is repair rather than destruction. It also has a sterilization cycle that can reach incineration temperatures. A thermal cutoff normally limits that heat, but Tomas can bypass the cutoff.
Following the fatal CKS Orpheus atmospheric accident, Tomas uses the curing tube to cremate biological Yvonne Kaiden's remains after her synaptic map has been transferred into a synthetic body. The use is an improvised departure from the machine's intended medical function and forms part of the concealment of Yvonne's biological death.
