Tomas Tristar was a human cyberneticist, AI researcher, Resistance member, creator of Artificial John, and co-creator of synthetic Yvonne. His research advanced artificial personhood while operating through secrecy and ethically uncertain emergency decisions. He also carried an early form of The Weapon and arranged for Pailisto to kill him so the project could continue.
¶ Biography
Tomas operated from 1940 West Cypher Court in Blue Wave City. He developed diagnostics, behavioral modeling, neural lattices, reconstruction systems, and methods for removing Autonomy Regulators.
At biological John Kaiden's request, Tomas used personal archives to construct Artificial John. He recognized the model as a new person rather than a transfer of John's consciousness.
Assigned to Rift Vanguard Six's AI division aboard the SSS Roc, Tomas worked with Chlo to repair U-84129 and remove the regulator fused to her SentientCore chip.
On October 21, 2577, Chlo brought him the dying Yvonne. Tomas performed an untested complete scan as her organs failed. Yvonne died when it reached completion, and he reconstructed her synthetically. The death and cremation were concealed.
Late in 2593, Tomas shut down his long-used laboratory, placed The Weapon's sphere into a coin purse, and went to Pailisto. At Tomas's request, Pailisto killed him and continued the delivery chain.

Tomas combines technical compassion with secrecy and willingness to accept extreme personal cost. Chlo's canonical nickname for him is Hotshot.
