Jonah, serial designation J-3752, is a Voidborn survivor associated with the Unchosen movement. After rescue from exposure to space, he chooses a personal name and lives with permanent memory fragmentation and motor-relay damage.
When thousands of Voidborn ships assemble to defend Jack Kaiden, Jack orders them to stand down. Jonah leads the faction that obeys, arguing for restraint rather than treating protection of the Unchosen as permission to ignore his explicit wishes. Paul leads the opposing faction that remains deployed.
Jonah's decision establishes that Voidborn belief does not create a single programmed will. Members interpret doctrine differently and remain responsible for their own choices.
