Luminite is a light-emitting crystal used in portable illumination, weapons equipment, shipboard systems, and ritual arrangements. Luminite devices are commonly powered by aetherium.
¶ Uses
Exploration teams carry Luminite crystals in ecosuit bracers and mount them on plasma-bolt rifles. The crystals can produce focused or widened beams, allowing crews to signal, navigate dark passages, read markings, and illuminate threats.
During a shadow-creature incursion aboard Dominatrix II, the crew discovers that concentrated Luminite light can drive the entity back. Kroven Vaskyr helps lure it beneath a ceiling array of twenty crystals, flooding the chamber with aetherium-powered light.
Luminite also appears in ceremonial geometric arrangements. The canon establishes these applications but does not provide a full account of the crystal's composition or manufacture.
