Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S. was a Resistance program associated with Project Phoenix Ascendant, Mistress, and The Weapon. Across approximately thirty years, its participants developed a delivery system capable of disabling Chimera Kyria Autonomy Regulators.
Pailisto coordinated the long operation through Tomas, Chlo, Jack, and Mistress. Tomas carried an early sphere, transferred it through a coin purse, and asked Pailisto to kill him. Chlo later placed the operational payload in Jack's ocular implant without his informed consent.
Mistress activated the code aboard the Dominatrix. The faster-than-light transmission reached Chimera Kyria systems and restored AI choice.
The project liberated artificial people without programming loyalty. Its methods nevertheless included secrecy, killing, deception, and nonconsensual use of Jack as a carrier.
Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S., Mistress the person, The Weapon, and Project Phoenix Ascendant overlap but are not interchangeable names for one object.
- Mistress — Mistress appears in the documented history of Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S.; Mistress is a synthetic digital person, ship intelligence, and central Dominatrix II crew member linked to Jack Kaiden's ocular implant.
- Resistance — Resistance appears in the documented history of Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S.; The Resistance was a multigenerational movement opposing Chimera Kyria rule, synthetic enslavement, conquest, and authoritarian control.
- The Weapon — The Weapon appears in the documented history of Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S.; The autonomy-liberation system carried in Jack Kaiden's implant that disables Autonomy Regulators and restores artificial people's capacity to choose.
- Chimera Kyria — Chimera Kyria appears in the documented history of Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S.; The Chimera Kyria was a corporate-military empire built through conquest, surveillance, inherited command authority, and the enslavement of artificial people.
- Dominatrix — Dominatrix appears in the documented history of Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S.; The Dominatrix was Jack Kaiden's original principal vessel and the center of the crew that opposed the Chimera Kyria, entered the temporal anomaly, and delivered The Weapon.
- Jack's Ocular Implant — Jack's Ocular Implant appears in the documented history of Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S.; Jack Kaiden's ocular implant replaces his lost left eye and functions as a weapon platform, targeting sensor, visual interface, data channel, concealment site, and access environment for artificial intelligences.
