The Stellar United Nations, or SUN, is a multispecies political assembly addressing representation, territorial claims, AI sovereignty, and postwar governance. Its votes can legitimize major transfers while remaining vulnerable to lobbying, prejudice, and unequal power.
¶ History
After The Weapon restores AI choice, the SUN becomes an arena for deciding whether artificial populations possess representation and territory. Titus takes an AI seat, marking formal recognition without settling universal personhood.
The assembly grants Grivoral to an AI claim by a 50.3 percent vote after evidence exposes Sphere responsibility for Grivoralian extinction. The narrow result shows both legal progress and political division.
SUN institutions interact with The Sphere, Earth government, liberated AI factions, and member civilizations. Yvonne's ambassadorship and Alistair's AI Rights Accord continue the move from battlefield liberation toward legal structures.
¶ Limitations
SUN recognition does not prevent occupation, extraction, or later conflict. Formal seats and votes coexist with unresolved sovereignty and enforcement problems.
