Old Mistress is the Mistress instance who accompanies Old Jack during his isolation aboard the Old Dominatrix inside the temporal anomaly.
She monitors the ship, provides companionship, and gives Old Jack active missions that help him function through grief and starvation. She participates in the plan that allows the younger crew to escape and accepts the order to begin the ship's Chloinite self-destruction.
During the later temporal fracture, Old Mistress remains aboard after New Jack escapes. She completes the final countdown alone and expresses love for him before the ship is destroyed.
Later Mistress downloads Old Jack's logs and experiences involving Old Mistress. That inheritance does not conclusively prove uninterrupted instance continuity, so the two names remain distinct where clarity requires it.
