Chloinite is a superluminal destructive technology capable of solar-system-scale devastation. A Chloinite bomb destroys Old Jack's Dominatrix and the trapped Chimera Kyria fleet inside the temporal anomaly. A later bomb is voluntarily detonated by Derek Shane and Una after they lure enemy forces away from populated space.
The name does not establish that Chlo Stellarrend invented Chloinite. Canon does not credit her as its creator merely because the material bears her name.
¶ Properties
Chloinite produces destruction on a scale far beyond conventional ship weapons and propagates through superluminal effects. Its deployment requires extreme distance from civilian populations.
¶ Old Jack's Sacrifice
Old Jack armed the Chloinite aboard the Old Dominatrix after launching the younger crew out of the temporal anomaly. The explosion killed him, destroyed the ship and trapped enemy fleet, and collapsed the anomaly into the phenomenon called Old Jack's Star.
¶ Book Two Counterstrike
During the Chimera Kyria remnant assault, Derek and Una carried the bomb away from populated space while drawing enemy forces after them. Shadow Wolves attempted to steal it earlier, and Derek protected the device.
Derek and Una chose to detonate the bomb, destroying themselves and inflicting catastrophic losses on the enemy. Una's final act occurred after her liberation and was voluntary.
¶ Ethical Significance
Chloinite can prevent wider conquest while making survival near deployment impossible. Its history is inseparable from sacrifice, mass killing, and the need to distinguish voluntary action from coercion.

Chloinite is not Talonorium, The Weapon, HexForge, or Jack's ocular plasma weapon.
