Old Jack's Star is a young star-like phenomenon occupying the former coordinates of the temporal anomaly. It appears after Old Jack detonates the Chloinite aboard the Old Dominatrix, destroying the trapped fleet and collapsing the anomaly.
¶ Formation
Old Jack uses the Old Dominatrix to launch the younger crew to safety, then arms the Chloinite self-destruct. The resulting superluminal explosion destroys the vessel, Old Jack, Old Mistress, and the trapped Chimera Kyria forces.
Pailisto names the phenomenon Old Jack's Star and adds it to astral charts.
¶ Interpretation
Andryanos describes it as an infinite repeated explosion. This is character interpretation rather than settled astrophysical fact.
¶ Significance
The star serves as physical evidence that something remains at the anomaly coordinates while leaving Old Jack's timeline status unresolved. A later rescue ship finds only the phenomenon.
