The Artifact Research Center, or ARC, was a secure research facility containing the sole established corrupted Talonorium Shard to survive the Great Healing. An Occulum-protected vault severed the fragment from the connected network.
¶ Facility
ARC stored dangerous artifacts and protected its Shard behind Occulum barriers. The vault or site had been erased from maps, and the identity and motives of whoever sealed the fragment remain unresolved.
¶ X3 Infiltration
After the Great Healing, X3 infiltrated ARC, recovered the isolated Shard, and implanted it in his chest. The resulting transformation granted unstable wormhole, temporal, and reality-altering abilities.
¶ Legacy
ARC's concealment preserved the exact threat the Great Healing otherwise removed. Its history links institutional secrecy with the later Domain crisis.
