Occulum is an extremely dense element that suppresses or severs quantum entanglement. It blocks scans, signals, entangled AI communication, teleportation, and Talonorium wormholes. Its isolation of one corrupted Talonorium Shard prevents the Great Healing from reaching that fragment.
Occulum has atomic number 256, a stated density of 500 grams per cubic centimeter, and an established deposit in the Vantam Rift. Concentrated ore suppresses both Jack's and X3's Talonorium abilities.
¶ Properties
Occulum interrupts entangled connections rather than behaving as a conventional signal jammer alone. It blocks quantum communication, entangled AI contact, scans, remote signals, teleportation, and Talonorium wormholes. It can also isolate Talonorium from networked cleansing and weaken attuned users.
¶ ARC Shard
A corrupted Shard was sealed within an Occulum-protected ARC vault that had been erased from maps. The isolation preserved it when connected Talonorium underwent the Great Healing. Who sealed it and why remain unresolved.
¶ Vantam Rift
Jack and Owo lured X3 into an Occulum mine in the Vantam Rift. The concentration reduced X3's Shard-based abilities and Jack's developing attunement, creating conditions for direct confrontation.
¶ Other Claimed Use
Rhazek claims Avarael's black-site prison is Occulum-lined. That description and the site's history remain captor testimony rather than independently verified fact.
