The Quelos are a cat-like biological people organized into multiple alliance nations. Their political and ceremonial life includes the Qualarian Scepter, which passes between member nations in a monthly ceremony.
¶ Qualarian Scepter dispute
The scepter is stolen from the Quelos nation of Norylia and eventually reaches Derek Shane's vessel. A Quelos force pursues Derek in a Phraxor ship, but Dominatrix II disables the attacker's weapons with Heartpiercer missiles.
The theft threatens to escalate into war. A Quelos delegation led by Captain Cyran Kaal later boards Dominatrix II to recover the scepter and receive an apology. The dispute shows that “Quelos” can refer collectively to the people and their political representatives; it is not the name of the pursuing ship.
