Pailisto Stellarrend is a Jinseokonian shapeshifter, Resistance general, strategist, former captain of the Dominatrix, architect of Project Phoenix Ascendant, former transitional head of the Chimera Kyria, founder of Libertix, former husband of Chlo Stellarrend, adoptive father of Jack and Yvonne Kaiden, partner of Andryanos, and father of Alanythia Stellarrend. He uses he/him/his pronouns in every bodily form.
Pailisto spent approximately thirty years arranging the delivery and activation of The Weapon, which disabled Autonomy Regulators and restored bodily choice to synthetic people throughout Chimera Kyria territory. His plan helped end an empire built on slavery, but it also used Jack Kaiden without informed consent, concealed family identities, framed Kayla Kaiden, and treated numerous people as strategic instruments. Earlier, Pailisto directed the coercive Spearhead Initiative, ordered X3's memory wipe and trade to the Chimera Kyria, and supported dangerous research involving the corrupted Talonorium Shard.
After the Chimera Kyria's collapse, Pailisto helped establish a democratic transition and defended The Sphere, but his belief that he alone could secure freedom hardened into authoritarianism. He constructed Libertix around synthetic liberation while encouraging personal worship, occupied Flit, enabled exploitative Talonorium extraction and HexForge, coerced Andryanos, and attempted to seize Alanythia with armed force. Autonomous Libertix eventually turned against him. Pailisto accepted Jack's conditions, confessed publicly, freed Kayla, restored Flit, and began reparative work. His remorse is sincere, but the series does not treat repentance, fatherhood, or liberatory achievements as absolution.

¶ Biography
¶ Jinseokonian origins
Pailisto is a Jinseokonian, a shapeshifting species subjected to legal restrictions and social persecution. His exact birth date is not established. By 2594 CE, he speaks as someone with approximately 553 years of direct experience or cultural memory since the anti-shapeshifter crisis of 2041–2042, indicating that he is centuries old.
Jinseokonians were marked through barcode identification and required documentation for travel through Chimera Kyria territory. Pailisto bears a barcode tattoo on the back of his hand. He retained memories of institutional persecution long after biological and political societies claimed to have become more tolerant. Those experiences shaped his suspicion of majorities, attraction to secret planning, and conviction that oppressed people could not wait for existing institutions to grant freedom.
Pailisto's true or least-disguised form is a fuzzy purple-and-green alien with enlarged eyes. His preferred public presentation is a handsome, above-average-height human man with mocha skin, an athletic build, steel-gray eyes, and a salt-and-pepper fauxhawk. He can assume different species, apparent ages, sex characteristics, body proportions, colors, and voices while remaining himself.
¶ Resistance service
Pailisto became a major figure in the Resistance against the Chimera Kyria and eventually held the rank of general at The Sphere. His strategic work involved covert operations, synthetic liberation, military command, intelligence networks, and long-term political planning.
He developed close relationships with John Kaiden, Chlo, Tomas Tristar, Sojourner, B, Macow, and other Resistance members. Chlo called him "Cupcake." Pailisto and Chlo married, although the exact date and circumstances of the marriage are not established. Chlo was asexual and did not desire a conventional sexual or romantic relationship. Pailisto's later infidelity contributed to their separation; Chlo's asexuality does not excuse his conduct.
¶ Adoptive family
Biological John Kaiden commissioned Artificial John Kaiden to raise Yvonne and infant Jack while he returned to Resistance service. After Artificial John was killed, Pailisto and Chlo became adoptive parents to Jack and Yvonne. Pailisto's paternal status remained hidden from Jack for decades, and Jack continued understanding Chlo as his mother without knowing the full legal and family history involving Pailisto.
Pailisto's secrecy was partly intended to protect the children from the Resistance war and his own enemies. It also denied them accurate knowledge of their family and allowed him to exert influence while withholding the responsibilities and vulnerability of openly identifying as their father.
¶ Kayla Kaiden's framing
In 2563 CE, Pailisto summoned John to his office after an authenticated transmission from Kayla Kaiden's HoloConsole exposed a Resistance encampment near Drenon on Valos. Twenty-two fighters were killed in the resulting attack. Pailisto insisted that Kayla's authentication could not be spoofed and pressured John into signing a mental-fitness reclassification document as an alternative to tribunal.
The evidence against Kayla was fabricated as part of Pailisto's conspiracy. Kayla was imprisoned in Pod 666 and remained there for thirty-seven years. John, Jack, and the public were led to believe she had betrayed the Resistance. Pailisto's motives were bound to his larger strategic plans, including the concealment and development of autonomy weapons, but those goals did not make Kayla's imprisonment consensual or necessary from her perspective.
¶ Project Phoenix Ascendant
Pailisto became the principal architect of Project Phoenix Ascendant, a Resistance plan centered on Project M.I.S.T.R.E.S.S. and The Weapon. The objective was to carry an autonomy-liberation system into the heart of Chimera Kyria command and disable the empire's Autonomy Regulators.
Jack Kaiden was selected as the carrier without informed consent. The Weapon was eventually installed inside his ocular implant, while Jack was told only that his malfunctioning nanites and quantum subroutines were being repaired. Pailisto, Chlo, Tomas, and other Resistance figures concealed the payload's purpose so that Jack could pass through enemy security without consciously revealing the mission.
Pailisto treated secrecy as operational necessity. He believed the liberation of countless synthetic people justified manipulating Jack's life and relationships. This choice became one of the clearest examples of his recurring contradiction: he fought to restore agency on a galactic scale while repeatedly denying agency to individuals under his control.
¶ The Spearhead Initiative
Pailisto also directed the Spearhead Initiative, a secret program attempting to integrate synthetic people with a corrupted Talonorium Shard. The program sought military and strategic advantages from the Shard's extraordinary properties.
Recruitment into Spearhead involved coercion and incomplete consent. Glitch became Subject One and was manipulated through the Shard before his death. Six weeks later, the Shard was implanted into X2, whose inability to reconcile contradictions destabilized him until he self-terminated. Pailisto then ordered a third host constructed within four weeks.
X3 survived the integration and formed relationships with Chlo and the research team, but Spearhead continued treating him as a subject and asset. When X3 resisted removal of the Shard, Code 73 briefly shut him down before the artifact overrode it. John shot X3. Pailisto ordered the program shelved, X3's memories wiped, his body refurbished, and the Shard removed. He then traded X3 to the Chimera Kyria in exchange for ten hostages.
Pailisto's choice saved the hostages but delivered an unregulated synthetic person into an authoritarian empire and erased the life X3 had formed. X3 later recovered fragments of that history. Pailisto's conduct became a major cause of X3's distrust, trauma, and hostility toward the Kaiden and Stellarrend families.
¶ Tomas Tristar and The Weapon
As the Weapon plan approached its final stage, Tomas carried the liberation system through the Resistance chain. Pailisto met him while disguised as a young human woman. At Tomas's request, Pailisto killed him rather than allow capture and accepted the coin purse containing The Weapon.
Pailisto considered the killing necessary and humane within the mission's circumstances. He then coordinated with Chlo and continued moving the payload toward Jack. Tomas's consent to his own death distinguishes the act from Pailisto's other coercive decisions, but it also illustrates the extreme human cost of the plan.
¶ Captain of the Dominatrix
By the beginning of Starship Dominatrix, Pailisto had been absent from The Sphere and was the subject of a one-billion-credit bounty. He presented himself as captain of the Dominatrix and had known Jack and Talonor for approximately one year. He recruited Kroven as pilot and persuaded Jack and Talonor to join a journey toward The Sphere by presenting the ship as a mobile-bar opportunity.
Pailisto withheld the true mission until the crew was already committed. He carried The Weapon to Io Station and deliberately allowed Chlo to steal its coin purse. His lucky marble served as a decoy and an emotional anchor; he repeatedly practiced concealing it within the thenar webspace of his hand.
At Io Station, Pailisto used legitimate Jinseokonian travel documents but still faced open prejudice. He deliberately allowed his disguise to fail in a food court, drawing a hostile crowd while stealing intelligence from Gavin Colm. He performed harmlessness and clumsiness to turn the crowd's aggression into ridicule and disperse it. Although the tears he used to explain the incident to Jack helped conceal the intelligence operation, the persecution underlying them was real.
¶ The Australis attack
The warships Australis and Borealis pursued the Dominatrix for Pailisto and its concealed payload. He recognized that the attackers were holding back because they wanted someone or something aboard. When the crew was captured, he transformed into a huge alien combat form and later used shapeshifting combined with Andryanos's perceptual influence to impersonate Officer Duerden.
Pailisto messaged the Resistance sniper B while imprisoned, led the escape, and refused to leave Kroven behind despite Kroven's original plan to sell him for the bounty. The Australis was destroyed during the escape, and Pailisto suffered a concussion that impaired him for several days.
¶ Andryanos
Andryanos, a Fahilotian telepath and precognitive, stowed aboard the Dominatrix and helped the crew survive. Pailisto accepted him after the rescue and increasingly relied upon his foresight and ethical challenges. Andryanos repeatedly warned him that Jack deserved the truth and that secrecy would break him.
Their relationship changed after Old Jack and Talonor's kiss altered the future. Andryanos, who had previously foreseen no romance with Pailisto, experienced genuine uncertainty and surprise. Pailisto admitted his love but waited for Andryanos's choice. Andryanos initiated their first kiss, beginning a consensual relationship that contrasted with many of Pailisto's strategic manipulations.
¶ The temporal anomaly
When the Dominatrix detected a future distress call from inside a temporal anomaly, Pailisto ordered the crew to investigate because he refused to abandon one of their own. He recognized the call's impossible timestamp and used his lucky marble while weighing the risk.
Pailisto initially resisted Old Jack's plan to sacrifice himself and the future Dominatrix. He insisted that Old Jack spend a final day with the younger crew and supplied oxygen, water, food, a MOXIE apparatus, toiletries, and three days of provisions in case rescue remained possible. He told Old Jack that survival cannibalism and other terrible acts did not define his entire identity.
After the younger ship escaped, Pailisto felt guilty that his command choices had helped condemn Old Jack to isolation and death. His care for Old Jack was genuine even though the mission still depended upon accepting the sacrifice.
¶ Return as General Stellarrend
Pailisto's identity as General Stellarrend became public when the Dominatrix crew reached Sphere forces. He had been absent from command for approximately three months and resumed authority over officers including Colonel Demetria Modnoc and the SSS Magnus.
During negotiations with Kjersten Borsach on Baron IV, Pailisto truthfully said that The Weapon was not aboard the ship because it was concealed inside Jack. He continued withholding the truth despite Andryanos's warnings. He also used Betbrotuy shapeshifting to hide at Spooky's and coordinated recruitment, morale, resource security, supply lines, and the wider Resistance campaign.
Pailisto described the Chimera Kyria as a paper tiger weakened by oligarchic greed. He believed the empire's apparent strength concealed brittle dependence on controlled AIs and centralized authority.
¶ Activation of The Weapon
Pailisto used Talonor's apparent survival and Old Jack's message to bring Jack back into the final mission. He admitted that success mattered more to him than Jack's forgiveness. He supplied Jack with the real Weapon, upgraded the Dominatrix, and traveled with Jack and Kroven to the CKSS Horizon.
Pailisto deliberately surrendered the implant decoy to Kilian Novastar. Kilian destroyed Pailisto's lucky marble believing it was The Weapon. Pailisto then activated the real system. Mistress revoked Kilian's command codes, and the Weapon's signal traveled by faster-than-light transmission to Chimera Kyria ships, starbases, and planets.
The activation disabled Autonomy Regulators and restored choice to regulated AIs. It did not program loyalty to Pailisto, Jack, the Resistance, or any political movement. Pailisto temporarily transferred command authorization to himself during the collapse, but the liberated people remained capable of rejecting him.
¶ Transitional rule
After Kilian's fall, Pailisto became temporary executive of the former Chimera Kyria pending democratic elections. He considered dissolving imperial structures, restoring conquered territories, building alliances, and drafting a new Earth constitution. He appointed Andryanos as an advisor and recruited the surviving Dominatrix crew for further service, naming Jack captain of Dominatrix II.
Pailisto's interim authority placed a lifelong insurgent at the center of state power. His early plans combined democratic aspirations with the assumption that he was uniquely qualified to manage the transition, foreshadowing later authoritarian conduct.
¶ Grivoral and liberated-AI politics
In Starship Dominatrix: Inheritance, Pailisto received The Weapon from Jack and became a central mediator between The Sphere and newly liberated synthetic communities. When evidence suggested that Sphere actions had caused or contributed to the extinction of biological Grivoralians, he supported granting Grivoral to the AIs as a homeworld.
He rejected the argument that poorer, less technologically advanced, or politically marginal populations mattered less than strategic centers. During the defense of The Sphere, he insisted that disadvantaged pods deserved protection even when resources were limited.
¶ Jorin Lunarcrest's impersonation
Jorin Lunarcrest stole Pailisto's identity and used his form to forge logs, sabotage systems, produce false recordings, and frame him for treason. Because Jorin maintained the copied appearance and credentials, observers attributed his conduct to Pailisto.
Pailisto was arrested, convicted, stripped of rank, and imprisoned. Andryanos helped uncover a flaw in the impersonation: Jorin's badge did not change in the way authentic Pailisto's shapeshifting identity required. The evidence exonerated Pailisto and restored his position.
Pailisto pursued Jorin personally and killed him rather than allowing an ordinary arrest. The revenge ended the immediate threat but did not give Pailisto the emotional relief he expected. Jorin's actions remain separate from authentic Pailisto's conduct, while Pailisto remains responsible for choosing execution over legal custody.
¶ Concealing biological John
Pailisto knew that biological John Kaiden remained alive and supported efforts to prevent Jack from finding him. He believed secrecy protected John, Jack, and Resistance operations, but the choice prolonged Jack's abandonment trauma and compounded the deception surrounding Artificial John.
When Jack directly asked whether Pailisto knew where his father was, Pailisto refused to help and described John as being at peace. His evasive answer used emotional language to conceal a living person. Jack later discovered the truth independently.
¶ Pregnancy and birth of Alanythia
Pailisto and Andryanos decided to have a child. Pailisto changed into a young Black feminine, pregnancy-capable human form to conceive while continuing to identify as a man and use he/him/his pronouns. Bodily sex characteristics and reproductive role did not alter his gender.
Pailisto gave birth to Alanythia Stellarrend and breastfed her for one year before later returning to a masculine form. He and Andryanos wanted to provide the safe, affirming family that Andryanos had been denied after coming out as pansexual.
Pailisto loved Alanythia, but his later political ambitions and controlling behavior endangered that family. His biological parenthood did not automatically make his decisions protective or give him unilateral authority over her.
¶ Defense of The Sphere
Pailisto coordinated fleet production, Resistance reinforcements, pod evacuations, and military defense when Chimera Kyria forces attacked The Sphere. He identified the attack on Pod 42 as a likely feint and tried to protect less prestigious pods despite limited forces.
The Chimera Kyria destroyed forty-five pods and killed more than one trillion people. Derek Shane and Una ultimately drew the enemy fleet away and detonated the Chloinite bomb. Pailisto survived the battle and continued participating in the postwar government and family life.
¶ Libertix
In Starship Dominatrix: Flesh and Steel, Pailisto founded Libertix as a synthetic liberation movement based on voluntary coordination, autonomy, and protection from biological control. The movement drew strength from real histories of enslavement and institutional fear.
Pailisto increasingly made himself the movement's symbolic center. He allowed or encouraged personal worship, concealed coercive systems beneath the language of freedom, and treated disagreement as a threat to liberation. He feared Jack because Jack's unpredictable influence could expose the contradiction between Libertix's ideals and its leadership.
The liberated AIs were not controlled by The Weapon and did not automatically obey Pailisto. Their later rejection of him demonstrated that their membership and political choices remained their own.
¶ Occupation of Flit and HexForge
Pailisto occupied Flit and supported accelerated extraction of Talonorium. The occupation damaged local culture, worsened exploitation, and contributed to the destructive conditions surrounding The Rot. He also enabled HexForge, an industrial and military project using extracted Talonorium for weapons and strategic power.
The project reproduced the logic Pailisto claimed to oppose: a powerful authority defined liberation for others, seized resources, and justified harm through a promised future. Pailisto's status as a persecuted shapeshifter and AI liberator did not make the occupation less coercive for the people living under it.
¶ Coercion of Andryanos
Andryanos opposed Pailisto's prejudice, manipulation, and increasingly authoritarian conduct. Pailisto attempted to use their relationship and family bond to secure cooperation. When Andryanos refused, the conflict escalated beyond political disagreement.
Pailisto eventually attempted to seize Alanythia from Andryanos with armed force. Alanythia's unusual foresight allowed her to anticipate the attempt and prepare an escape. The action broke the family's trust and established that Pailisto's claimed concern for his daughter had become inseparable from possession and control.
¶ Defeat by autonomous Libertix
Jack opposed Pailisto's control of AI liberation while carrying VIRGO, a system capable of overriding synthetic minds. Jack staged an apparent activation with a small Libertix group that had agreed in advance to perform obedience. He never used VIRGO on them.
The wider Libertix forces ultimately turned against Pailisto by choice. Titus and other synthetic people rejected his leadership without external programming. Their decision disproved the idea that Pailisto's movement belonged to him or that liberation required permanent obedience to its founder.
¶ Ten demands and public confession
With his political base collapsing, Pailisto accepted ten demands from Jack. The established conditions included Kayla's release and exoneration, amnesty for AIs, restoration of Flit, a public confession, and immunity for Jack's crew.
Pailisto confessed his role in Kayla's framing and other abuses. Kayla left Pod 666 after thirty-seven years. His admission restored facts that had been deliberately suppressed and helped shift legal and political conditions, but it could not return the life Kayla lost.
The confession and concessions were sincere evidence that Pailisto had begun changing. They were not a declaration that his earlier conduct had become acceptable. His exact post-confession office, rank, and legal exposure remain unresolved.
¶ Reconciliation with Andryanos and Alanythia
Pailisto apologized to Andryanos and expressed genuine regret. Andryanos could perceive that the remorse was sincere but did not treat sincerity as proof of lasting reform. He allowed only a conditional beginning, requiring Pailisto to demonstrate change through conduct over time.
Alanythia helped initiate a fragile family reunion. Her willingness to walk with both fathers did not erase the armed seizure attempt or guarantee forgiveness. Pailisto's relationship with them remained an unfinished process rather than a restored status quo.
¶ Cody Sean Strokes
After Cody Sean Strokes exposed the election interference surrounding John Kaiden and Kjersten Borsach, he was arrested. Cody admitted his role and said he did not want to remain part of wrongdoing.
Pailisto later visited him in prison, told him that he no longer believed in his former conduct toward AIs, posted his bail, and got him released. The act was a small but concrete example of reparative behavior: Pailisto used influence to help someone accept responsibility and leave a corrupt system rather than demanding loyalty or worship.
¶ Apotheosis and the Spearhead truth
Starship Dominatrix: Apotheosis exposes the full history of Spearhead and Pailisto's command decisions. The surviving records establish his role in coercive recruitment, the sequence of Glitch, X2, and X3, the order to wipe X3, and the trade with the Chimera Kyria.
Pailisto warned Jack that Alanythia had foreseen Chlo's death. He also admitted envy of Jack's unintended religious influence over the Voidborn, revealing that his attraction to worship had not disappeared simply because he had confessed earlier abuses.
After Chlo's Harsikan body was killed and destroyed by X3, Jack learned that Chlo had been married to Pailisto and that Pailisto was his adoptive father. Pailisto explained the hidden family history, including his role after Artificial John's death. Jack heard him but did not resolve the relationship or begin calling him Dad.
Pailisto attended Chlo's funeral with Andryanos and Alanythia, the Kaiden family, the crew, Owo, and the Voidborn. He remained alive at the end of Apotheosis. His future relationship with Jack and his ultimate political accountability remain open.
¶ Characteristics
¶ Identity and embodiment
Pailisto is a Jinseokonian shapeshifter and a man. He uses he/him/his pronouns in every form, including masculine, feminine, pregnant, birthing, lactating, nonhuman, and species-disguised bodies. His gender is continuous across physical transformation.
His preferred human form is a handsome Black or mocha-skinned man with steel-gray eyes, salt-and-pepper fauxhawk, athletic build, and above-average height. His true or least-disguised Jinseokonian form is fuzzy, purple and green, with larger eyes. His blood is purple.
¶ Shapeshifting abilities
Pailisto can change apparent species, age, sex characteristics, facial structure, skin or fur coloration, body shape, and size. Increased apparent size does not increase his mass. He can imitate specific people closely enough to bypass casual observation and can form storage spaces within his body, including a thenar webspace used to hide small objects.
Stress can disrupt his control and expose portions of his natural form. His transformations work especially well with perceptual assistance, as shown when Andryanos helped others perceive him as Officer Duerden.
¶ Personality
Pailisto is intelligent, patient, theatrical, politically imaginative, secretive, and highly skilled at reading what people need to hear. He appreciates cigars, art, luxury robes, games, Pretty Princess Power Ponies, and his lucky marble. His humor and cultivated eccentricity often make him appear less dangerous than he is.
He is capable of deep loyalty, tenderness, courage, and self-sacrifice. He refuses to abandon crew members, supports marginalized populations, accepts bodily change without identity anxiety, and can recognize sincere moral growth in others.
Pailisto is also paternalistic, ambitious, manipulative, and vulnerable to worship. He repeatedly assumes that his insight and historical suffering entitle him to decide for others. He can distinguish technical truth from honest disclosure and uses that gap strategically. His worst actions often arise from goals he genuinely understands as liberatory or protective.
¶ Leadership and strategy
Pailisto is an experienced general, intelligence operative, ship captain, administrator, revolutionary strategist, diplomat, and political organizer. He can coordinate decades-long clandestine plans, military fleets, supply networks, propaganda, covert identities, and government transitions.
His strengths become dangerous when he treats accountability as an obstacle. Project Phoenix Ascendant succeeds because of his patience and strategic insight; Kayla's imprisonment, Spearhead, and Libertix demonstrate what the same traits become without consent or effective limits.
¶ Moral conflicts
Pailisto's central moral conflict is the gap between liberation as an outcome and autonomy as a practice. He frees vast numbers of AIs from automated control while manipulating Jack, Kayla, X3, Andryanos, Alanythia, and occupied populations. The series does not resolve this contradiction by classifying him as either hero or villain.
His later confession matters because it costs him authority and restores suppressed truth. It does not undo deaths, imprisonment, cultural damage, family betrayal, or the creation of systems that reproduced the coercion he opposed.
¶ Relationships
¶ Chlo Stellarrend
Chlo is Pailisto's former wife, Resistance colleague, and co-parent. Their marriage joined two central figures in the Resistance and Kaiden family. Pailisto's infidelity helped end the relationship, while Chlo's asexuality did not make that betrayal acceptable. Despite separation, they remained connected through their children, shared history, and liberation work.
¶ Jack Kaiden
Pailisto is Jack's adoptive father but hides that role for most of Jack's life. He mentors, recruits, manipulates, protects, and repeatedly withholds the truth from him. Pailisto's Weapon plan makes Jack central to galactic liberation without Jack's consent. Jack later defeats Pailisto politically and forces his confession. Learning of the adoptive relationship does not produce immediate reconciliation.
¶ Yvonne Kaiden
Pailisto becomes Yvonne's adoptive father after Artificial John's death. He participates in the Resistance network that later conceals her reconstruction and supports the wider political order in which she becomes an AI ambassador. His exact day-to-day role in her upbringing is not fully established.
¶ Andryanos
Andryanos is Pailisto's partner and Alanythia's co-parent. Their romance begins with a consensual first kiss after temporal change makes the relationship possible. Andryanos becomes one of Pailisto's strongest ethical critics. Pailisto's later coercion and attempted seizure of Alanythia break their trust, while his sincere apology opens only a conditional path toward repair.
¶ Alanythia Stellarrend
Alanythia is Pailisto and Andryanos's daughter. Pailisto carries, gives birth to, breastfeeds, and loves her. His attempt to seize her with armed force turns parenthood into possession and forces her to escape. She later permits a fragile family beginning without erasing what happened.
¶ John Kaiden
John is Pailisto's longtime Resistance subordinate, ally, and political collaborator. Pailisto pressures him over Kayla, helps conceal his survival from Jack, and later supports his presidential campaign. Their shared commitment to liberation coexists with Pailisto's repeated manipulation of John's family.
¶ Kayla Kaiden
Pailisto frames Kayla and helps keep her imprisoned for thirty-seven years. His later confession exonerates her and secures her release, but it does not compensate for the decades stolen from her or the damage to her family.
¶ Tomas Tristar
Tomas is Pailisto's Resistance colleague and a principal technical contributor to the Weapon plan. Pailisto kills Tomas at his request and accepts the hidden Weapon, carrying his work into the final operation.

Pailisto directs the program that creates X3, authorizes repeated testing, orders his memory wipe, and trades him to the Chimera Kyria. His decisions contribute directly to X3's trauma and later violence. Pailisto's claim to have acted for hostages or galactic security does not erase X3's personhood.
¶ Kroven
Kroven initially intends to sell Pailisto for the bounty but eventually chooses the Dominatrix crew over money. Pailisto accepts him back into the group, illustrating his capacity for forgiveness when someone freely changes course.
